In the last week I produced a lot: babygnoma was home with bronchitis, there was a day of celebration and, moreover, my boyfriend also had a day off, then has the opportunity .... made the woman cook:-D
The first inspiration came from their own celebrations for the 150th anniversary of our beautiful country: the forced imprisonment by Malatina, I had quite empty fridge, so I invented a spur of the moment baked pasta very poor but nice to see. Fusilli pasta with red sauce, white cheese with pesto and green, of course willing to flag and covered with chunks of pecorino cheese Montasio and abundant.
Here they are before and after oven
the afternoon then, aided by the bad weather, I just want to prepare a fresh theme, and so I made the legendary sponge cake that alternative straconsiglio (these doses from the pan 22 x diameter): beat 3 egg foam with 3 tablespoons of boiling water, then add 80 grams of sugar, a pinch of salt, a teaspoon of vanilla extract and a few drops of lemon aroma; when you've got a soft foam set aside and whip the whites with 40 grams of sugar. Stir gently to the mixture of egg whites moving from top to bottom. Sift 75 hours g flour 50 g cornstarch and 1 / 2 packet of yeast and add to mixture with the same motion as before. Finally add 50 grams of melted butter, warm, always with the up-down movement. Then bake at 170 degrees for 20 minutes. This "sponge" will amaze you as it will be soft and fragrant: it is so soft and honeycombed forget that you can even bathe!
cake for my flag but I have wet, just with milk, then I filled with good milk cream really easy to make: put in a pan of flour 2 tablespoons sugar and 2 with a little bottle of vanilla flavoring and pour over 200ml of boiling milk; let thicken and set aside. Whip 200 ml cream with a little sugar (to taste) and when the milk mixture is completely cold incorporate it here is done!
Finally, the most difficult part for me: cover with paste sugar! Luckily I had prepared long ago and I still had a nice cake in the pantry, so you just move 5 seconds in the microwave, split it and color it, but the near future and will refer you explain how I did it because it is a long (and boring) procedure. As you can see from the result, rather rough, I'm not an expert in cake design ... but because I enjoy it I do not rule as to improve technique :-)
the end though what mattered was the taste and I must say it was delicious.
Well ... as are now in the mood to talk, I will tell you also the second inspiration, or that come from having friends over for dinner last night :-)
Roman As my companion decided to delight us with his (special, I guarantee!) bucatini all'amatriciana, knowing the substance I thought it best to name but a few appetizer and dessert ... and I did well, as that we are not able to finish them!
As a starter I made two simple but effective things that I invite you to try: the swivel of bread and a bowl of stuffed brioche bread and vegetables.
For swivels just take the milk white bread for sandwiches, without the crust, flatten the slices with a rolling pin and spread with mayonnaise and Philadelphia, on those with the cheese you can put ham, green olives to pieces, salmon smoked or whatever your imagination tells you, while on the new ham with mayonnaise, tuna, capers or more to your taste. Then rolled up slices, wrap in plastic wrap and let rest in refrigerator overnight. The next day, just cut them into slices, arrange on a plate and eat them, Tastefully also approved by the gnome :-)
The bowl is slightly more complicated, but fattibilissima: Take a box of brioche and cut the crust from the slices, melt 50 g butter, spennellatevi then the slices of bread and pass for a few minutes in the oven to 150 degrees. Meanwhile, mix the vegetables with a bit of vegetable oil into pieces: bell peppers, zucchini, carrots, onions ... all in about 400 grams of vegetables to your taste (eg I've used sweet peppers, zucchini, potatoes and eggplant). Turn off when they are still a little crunchy. Prepare a mixture by boiling together with 200 ml of cream and 100 ml of milk then pour 2 eggs beaten with about 50 grams of grated parmesan and a pinch of salt and pepper. Butter a loaf pan and arrange on the bottom layer of bread slices, inzuppatele well with the mixture and then a layer of vegetables, and a rich sprinkling of grated pecorino. Continue layers until it fills the mold, then bake at 160 degrees for 30 minutes. Let cool (in fridge) and cut into cubes portion. Exquisite!
That said ... you still want to hear the recipe?? I do not know me ... so I keep it for tomorrow :-)
